We were so excited to be able to attend the Christmas Eve service at our church. I am pretty sure the Christmas Eve service is one of my very favorite parts of the Christmas celebration. We have been going to our church since last Jan./Feb. so we barely missed the service last year. (plus we attended in Cape with my parent's) I don't know if there are many things better than singing Silent Night by candle light with a sanctuary full of believers who came to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas.
There wasn't a nursery so Wyatt had to sit with us. Let's just say I have turned into "that mom." LOL! I guess sometimes "you do what you have to do right?!?!"
After church we headed over to Mark's Aunt and Uncle's house to celebrate with Mark's dad's side of the family. I didn't get a lot of pictures here. There were lots of people and lots of stuff going on.
Wyatt got a big fire truck that makes noise and some fun action figures. In Mark's family all the Aunt (and Uncle's..hehe) go in together for one big gift per child. It's really nice because they ask for a list and get him something he really likes or is "into" instead of getting a bunch of small gifts. (That comment is not meant to be rude in anyway..it's just something I think it super neat and will be awesome as he gets older too!) After opening gifts we ate dinner and played a few fun games. There were great gift card prizes too! Thanks to Aunt Jackie and Uncle Bob for hosting such a great Christmas Eve.
*We only get to see Mark's dad's side every other year, same with his mom's due to traveling. With 2 hours between families it makes it impossible to see everyone on the same day. ;( We do our best though! *
Cousin Eric still has lots of LEGO's from when he was younger. He pulled them out for the boys to play with...needless to say they all had a blast. Who needs new toys when there are old ones right?!?! Ha!
Wyatt was beginning to get a little fussy and wanted to go home really bad. He was waving and saying "bye-bye" before it was actually time to go home. (For the record: it had nothing to do with anything or anyone there, he is just a homebody lately.) I thought it was really funny so I had to take a picture...
We tried to get a family picture while we were there but this is the best we could do...At first I get a little bummed about these types of pictures but once I think about it it captures the true us. ;) This is a picture of our life right now. Me looking chubby (some of it is because I am leaning back trying to hold up a 20lbs kid, LOL) Wyatt wanting to be playing and not smiling, and then Mark...picture perfect! ;) LOVE HIM!!!
